In this week's Vita.mn...

Check out my work in this week's issue of Vita.mn:

[A Spring 2010 look by Red Shoe Clothing Co.; Photo by Nicholas Marshall]

  • I styled the prom-themed cover shoot featuring local supergroup GAYNGS;
  • I wrote spotlights on a few of this year's Art-A-Whirl events, including "The Age of Aquarius" at Fox Tax Gallery, "ShareSpace" at Tarnish&Gold Gallery, and "The Slow Mirror and the Metronome" boat project on the Mississippi River;
  • Kerry Riley's solo fashion show, "The Death of Red Shoe";
  • and this year's Goth Prom at the Saloon: (print edition only)

    Goth Prom 7: 7 Deadly Sins
    Whether you ascribe to the goth lifestyle, want to take a nostalgic jump back to your high school days, or are just up for some good people-watching, the Saloon’s annual Goth Prom is the Twin Cities’ goth party of the year. For true goths, it’s a chance to go all-out, as if dressing for their own funeral of Tim Burton proportions. For the rest of us, it’s like Halloween in May, so don your darkest duds, slather on some white makeup and black eyeliner, and work your locks into a hairspray-hardened masterpiece. This year’s theme, 7 Deadly Sins, encourages attendees to embrace their inner gluttonous, lusty, envious, wrathful, greedy, slothful, prideful self - think femme fatales, blinged-up dark princes, and Dionysian drunkards. Because you’ll surely want to save this memory for the mantle, photographers will be on hand to capture you and your date in front of an appropriately gothic photo backdrop. (9 p.m.-3 a.m. Mon. $2. 18-plus. The Saloon, 830 Hennepin Av., Mpls. 612-332-0835.)
