Fashion round-up for 9.14

[Ra'mon at New York Fashion Week/Image by Sara Glassman for METRO]

It's been a busy weekend for Le Petit Connaisseur de la Mode. I just got back from New York Fashion Week, and oh, the stories I have to tell. (Check out l'etoile magazine later this week for a full behind-the-scenes recap by yours truly.) But let's look at what everyone else had to say first:

· Here's Allison Kaplan's
preview, in which I'm quoted, and recap.
· Here's Sara Glassman's
review and behind-the-scenes look at Ra'mon's show for Metro Magazine.
· Here's Kara Nesvig's preview in last week's
Vita.mn.
· PR Season 6 contestant Logan Neitzel was
spotted at Ra'mon's show, via Blogging Project Runway. Also in attandance from the PR ranks? Qrystyl Frazier, Christopher Straub, Carol Hannah Whitfield, and Katherine Gerdes.
· Racked.com has a pretty unflattering
review of Ra'mon's show. To each their own.
· Here's
Christopher Straub with Kevin Christiana and Jack Mackenroth at Christian Siriano's show.

In other Project Runway news:

Tim Gunn
reportedly wants to see Nina in Ra'mon's Neoprene dress from episode 3. Apparently, Ra'mon was saved from the chopping block because Nina adored his dress. Ra'mon also featured a neoprene skirt and vest at his Fashion Week show in black.

BPR
interviews Mitchell Hall about his aufing, and he has some interesting things to say about his collaboration with Ra'mon. Obviously, I'm on Team Ra'mon.

As for last week's episode, neither Ra'mon nor Christopher received much airtime, though fortunately both were safe with their designs. However,
Jezebel.com liked Ra'mon's dress, calling it "a wee Carrie Bradshaw/Patricia Field." I think it's a lovely, well-executed look that he should have gotten some props for.

Here's Christopher's look, which got some flack for looking like a dress-o-lettuce from Tim Gunn. It was an interesting idea at least, and well-executed.

Check out Christopher's just-released t-shirt design. It comes on a women's tee, a men's tee, and a baby onesie ($17-25). The Project Runway/SeenOn e-commerce site also features handbags, wallets, more t-shirt designs and even a skateboard by the designer.

Ra'mon's shop is here. I especially love his "Bleeding Heart" skateboard design ($60).

In other local fashion news:

[Emily Bungert, left, with Kelly Cutrone, right]

PR woman Kelly Cutrone's new reality show on Bravo has a Minneapolis connection. Her business partner Emily Bungert was born and raised in Minneapolis. Cutrone's PR company, The People's Revolution, represents such fashion lines as Longchamp, Nicky Hilton, Vivienne Westwood, Sass & Bide, Marisa Ribisi (Giovanni's sister who's married to Beck), Whitney Port, Whitley Cross, Andrew Buckler, and Mara Hoffman. There's no word yet on when "Kell on Earth" will premiere.

[Coco & Breezy in the September issue of LUSSW]

Here's a scan of former Minneapolitan twins Coco & Breezy styling it up in Japanese magazine LUSSW. The duo just had a launch party for their sunglasses line Gemela Amor at Vs. Social Standard last week before heading to NYC.

Finally, here's a preview of a dress from Emma Berg's collection, as photographed by Jennifer Cress. The collection will premiere at SCENEaSOTA on September 26 at the Ignite Modeling Studios.
